My name is Anji Capes. I am twenty-two years of age, and I live in the south of the United Kingdom with my son Orion Taliesin and a cat called Greebo who lives here when he feels like it.
As clichéd as it sounds, I am a mother before anything else. I love my son more than anything in the world, which is how it should be really. This can be annoying for others though, as I talk about him all the time.
I am a radical feminist. Radical means 'to the root', and it means that as far as I am concerned, patriarchy is the root of most oppression, and its destruction would make the world a far better place.
I identify as queer because it is the only word I have found so far which I feel adequately describes my sexuality. I have always felt more attracted to the female form than the male, but I form emotional relationships equally with all genders. I am currently in a monogamous relationship with a man and am extremely happy this way.
I am a traditional Pagan. My religion is a constant in my life, it helps me to understand myself and the world around me and feels as comfortable as a fluffy dressing-gown. The Earth, the Lord and Lady are very important to me, and I will happily discuss Paganism with believers and non-believers alike. My motto is education, not indoctrination.
I am a nerd, and not the cool kind. I like mathematics and I play Scrabble, I spend an unhealthy amount of time on the internet and I am an exclusive Linux user. I have no interest in being cool, it seems like too much effort.
I am in a long-distance relationship with a Norwegian catographer. Aside from my son, he is my favourite person in the world. Everything I wanted in a life partner, I found in Fredrik. I know how lucky I am, and I am truly grateful.
My best friend in the world is a northern ginger man who goes by the terrifically original name of Ginge. He has been a pillar of strength for me through thick and thin and I would do anything for him.
I am terribly British. I like to drink Earl Grey tea and I use the word 'brilliant' for things which really aren't that brilliant. I am very proud of England and especially the English language, for some inane reason. This makes me awfully irritating.
I am a pretty militant vegetarian. I don't mind people who eat meat but I abhor those who call themselves vegetarian but then eat fish or gelatine, or wear leather. That's just not cricket.
I will eat pretty much anything (non-animal of course) but I hate olives, mushrooms and coconut. No idea why, but those three things make me gag. I mean, mushrooms... how can you eat something which is grey?
